RIP Queen Elizabeth the 2nd .

My thoughts on our amazing monarch Queen Elizabeth the 2nd

"When life seems hard, the courageous do not lie down and accept defeat; instead, they are all the more determined to struggle for a better future."
Queen Elizabeth the 2nd
As a child Queen Elizabeth was certainly someone to be admired, not just for her regal stature, but for her bravery. My parents would tell us at Sunday lunch “Eat all those peas do you know that the queen must eat everything given to her. Even when she visits tribes where the chief would chew the food and spit it back out into a ball and hand it to her to eat. “It didn’t occur to me to point out that I was never going to be in her position.
Growing up I looked upon her as someone who was quite remarkable.
In most traditional
household’s, no matter how busy or exciting the Christmas festivities where, everything stopped for the Queens speech. Back in the sixties, where there was no catch-up, lunch was often planned around her majesty’s words.
Elizabeth was the voice of reason. Whether you’re a Royalist or not for most of us we listened to her empathetic voice. It was easy to tire of the political jargon given out by many public orators. Elizabeth, her voice had most of us stopping to hear what she wisely had to say.
Our Queen is admired around the world. Tourists flock to Britain to marvel at our kingdom. I was certainly not for Brexit. Having our queen made being British just a little bit special as we travel to other countries
Of course, I shed a tear when this remarkable woman, who had been so consistent in my life, died. How lucky we all were to have her in our lives. She would not want tears but a celebration of her life that represented who she was.
